The development of the Curriculum

KTSP was the operational curriculum that was compiled and carry out by respectively the educational unit. With KTSP, the Indonesian nation entered the new round in the development of the curriculum. Curriculum beforehand, that developed was the Government, in this case the Centre of the Balitbang Depdiknas Curriculum (previously the Centre of the Development of the Curriculum and means of Pendidikan Balitbang Department of Education and Culture) co-operated with related units, whereas the teacher remained mengimplementasikan him. This was relevant with the government's management at that time, that is sentralistik.Memasuki the reform era, the government's management changed to decentralisation, took the form of autonomy of the area and autonomy of the school; so as, the development of the curriculum by the Government was again irrelevant. Moreover, the development of the curriculum by the Government had the weakness, because of participants's capacity educated as if disamaratakan from Sabang to Merauke. In fact the fact is participants's capacity educated between the area of one and the other area, between the school of one and the other school, different to one another; and that most understood participants's capacity educated was the teachers yan relevant. Therefore, that was most ideal developed KTSP was the relevant teachers.
